When an email carries legal, financial, contractual, or compliance weight, “I sent it” is rarely enough. A standard sent-folder copy, read receipt, or screenshot may not help you prove delivery, timing, or exact content if the recipient later says, “I never got it,” or “that was not what you sent.”
Documents are becoming attack surfaces because the most sensitive business information no longer stays inside one protected environment.
External exposure refers to what happens when a document moves beyond controlled environments and into spaces where visibility and governance no longer exist. This is not a rare edge case. It is the default behavior of how documents move today.
Armand here, RPost’s armadillo product evangelist. I’ve been exposed to college admissions season, and with my quantitative mindset, I noticed a new (at least new to me) criteria that feeds into the weighted average admissions models for many schools. They call it “Demonstrated Interest”.
There is perhaps no more powerful human instinct than self-preservation. From avoiding fires, outrunning wild animals, hunkering down in caves, or just blaming a less-tenured coworker for a bad idea you had, our ability to escape danger has led our species to planetary dominance.
